Playing for Team GB at the Masters World Championships in Antalya, Turkey in March 2025 has been a fantastic experience. Four age groups - 30s, 35s, 40s and 45s - participated at these world championships. In total, 126 teams from every continent took to the courts in a bid to be crowned world champions. GB sent both men's and women's teams in all age groups, a total of 8 teams and 32 players.

My GB W45 team was seeded 3rd having won the bronze medal in Tokyo in 2024. We beat Sweden and Australia in the group stages to top our group. In the quarterfinals, we beat the USA, who were the defending champions, having won the gold medal in Tokyo. We then won a crucial semi final match against France, the no. 2 seeds. The match was tied 1-1 after the singles and came down to the deciding doubles, which we won in straight sets to beat France for the first time on clay. Unfortunately, we lost in the finals to top seeds, Germany, who had a very strong team. My W45 GB team finished 2nd and won the silver medal behind Germany with France and Spain finishing 3rd and 4th.

This is the third medal that I have won for Team GB and my first silver medal. The previous two medals were bronze medals in Portugal in 2022 and Japan in 2024. I had the most amazing time with my teammates, both on and off the court, and we made some incredible memories which I will always cherish. It was also fun competing against players from all over the world, making new friends and reconnecting with old ones.

All GB teams did well, with 4 out of 8 teams medalling. M30 won the gold defeating India in the finals. W30 finished 2nd losing to Germany in the final while M40 also finished 2nd behind Italy. Go GB!
